Hello Hernan- Well managed BG here and against such nice BG, this Dragonfly looks beautiful. It seems it is a male "Scarlet Dragonfly"( Crocothemis erythraea ). Your bad luck that it wasn't facing at you. But it wasn't in your hand and none can control nature. So credit goes to you for presenting a well detailed and colourful species. Thanks for sharing. Muy buena foto Hernan de este guapo ejemplar. Se parece a la crocothemis de aquí, pero no es lo mismo. He mirado en internet buscando guías de odonatos en Sudamérica o Argentina pero no encuentro absolutamente ninguna guía en digital, si hay algunos libros editados pero están en formato impreso. Enhorabuena por la foto. Un saludo.

Absolutely excellent and very spectacular work. Although I can't help you with the ID, but I can tell my feelings this is one of the most spectacular dragonfly images I've seen here on the site. Perfect sharpness, wonderful natural colors, awesome lights and unbelievably smooth background are the technical positives, meanwhile the composition is extremely pleasant, and the focus is not on the body, but on the closest square millimeters of the right wings. Although posted 2 months ago, the photo of the day to me. Fabulous photo, bravo!
