|The Staphylin is a small family pet Staphylinidae. It It is sometimes called "devil" by gardeners. |
It looks like a small scorpion, when disturbed, it takes a threatening attitude, spreading her mandibles, bending the tip of its abdomen and emitting a sour odor hence the term fragrant.
But I do not really have any smell because I did not feel anything...

Most welcome to TN.
I too was as you feel right now; I knew almost nothing ... have learnt a lot and am still learning.
You have started quite well.
I believe that this is a FIRST of these species you have uploaded on TN. However, am not too sure.
An absolute delight, a gem, of an image. The colours are all natural & well balanced.
You do not need a teacher; looks like you know your stuff.
Best and most kind regards from COLD COLD Canada from Mario.

Hello Dapsens, and welcome to TN.
What a fine macro of this neat little insect. You managed to photograph in it's threatening pose with mandibles completely flared out. Beautiful colors and nicely focused. Hope to see more from you in the future!
