Here is when last Saturday, I was retuning from the Parker River National Wildlife Refuge. Parker River NWR is a 4700 acres of protected land that has beaches, dunes, cranberry bogs, maritime foresst, shrub lands, and freshwater marsh! I discovered and visited this refuge first in last month only. Since then I have stopped thinking of any other refuge/ santuary.. haha! For the time being, of course. If you're an admirer of mother Nature, you love to explore!
But, as I said before, even if for the time being only.. I am stuck in here. *Heaven!* I got everything I loved in here. Ocean, river, marsh, bushes, woods, beaches, birds, till the last drop of sunlight, meadows, pool, wind and what not!?
Believe it or not, out of 4700 acres of this protected land, 3000 acres is salt marsh! So, those who love birding or bird photographing would know, how rich that means.
But if you're up to big wild animals, you won't find much here. This refuge is birders' paradise.
The two waterfowls that you see in this picture, are American Black Ducks (Anas rubripes). This couple is alwyas seen there. Looks like, it's there favourite spot! :D
I don't have a good click on any American Black Duck.. I have not seen them from close yet. :( This pair, always stays there.. that far! You cannot reach there, zooming also gives bad clicks. Someday! May be somewhere! :)
Thanks for viewing. If I get time, I will share some more (recent) pictures too. Massachusetts has a short summer/ spring. 65% of a year is dark, cold and monotonous.. in short, useless!
Enjoy the beauty of Nature! Happy to share. :) |
