Yellow-dust Amanita (Amanita flavoconia)
 |
|
[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Found this mushroom last weekend at a wildlife sanctuary, in Massachusetts. There were two small such mushrooms close to each other, one being this. This, is the bigger one.. compared to the other which just had popped out.
To me, these mushrooms look like Yellow-dust Amanita (Amanita flavoconia). But I am no expert. I might be wrong.
It was a deep wood with big, tall trees. And these mushrooms were in those heaps of dry leaves (as usual for mushrooms). I used no flash to take this photograph! :) It's natural.. direct sunlight.
Shadows of trees/ leaves, and then a beam of ray on it.. made it look very attractive. :)
It is on that day only, I first saw.. a Red Squirrel baby eating a big mushroom so so happily! I never knew squirrels ate mushrooms! That was a different mushroom.. not this one.. but whoa!
I just hope baby squirrels too, know, which mushrooms are edible for them which are not!
Happy to share. :) |

Hello Ruby,
Nice to see your new posting.
A photo of a mushroom in beautiful light, taken from a very good low POV. Fine DOF and sharpness.

Hello Ruby
I am in New York on vacation and have to use my cell phone to view the site
Your photo of the mushroom looks good from this small screen
I like the natural lighting and sharp focus. Colors are beautiful and exposure is right on the money
Great to see you out enjoying nature. This is taking me forever to type out on this tiny screen
Great work
Ron
Welcome to another of your sporadic forays into TN, Ruby!
I guess this is your first Fungi image here and it's good.
I like the spot-light like effect here that makes the subject stand out well.
As usual, your personal note is full of intense feelings for nature.
