[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hello friends, the female of the Hooded Merganser.

1/640s f/11.0 ISO1000 50mm (35mm eq:75mm).

« “Hooded” is something of an understatement for this
extravagantly crested little duck. Adult males are a sight
to behold, with sharp black-and-white patterns set off
by chestnut flanks. Females get their own distinctive
elegance from their cinnamon crest.

Hooded Mergansers are fairly common on small ponds
and rivers, where they dive for fish, crayfish, and other food,
seizing it in their thin, serrated bills. They nest in tree cavities;
the ducklings depart with a bold leap to the forest floor when
only one day old. »

Hello Asbed,
Nice shot of this little female Hooded Merganser. I have yet you photograph a merganser of either sex. Focus appears sharp and colors looks natural. The lighting was a bit challenging, but you managed the exposure quite well. From the appearance of such a large wake in the water this gal was doing some serious movement. TFS!!

Hello Asbed,
Overall it looks good. Beautiful natural colours and composition.
