A flower bud of a Dryandra (now Banksia) species. Not sure about exact species, but native from SW of Western Australia.
Photographed in the gardens of the Eastern Hills branch of the Wildlflower Society of WA, as part of a photography workshop.

Hello Odile,
What a beautiful bud you have photographed here, love it's unique shape and pretty colors. Unlike anything I have ever seen here in the states. I am going to have to look it up on the web to see what it looks like when fully open.
Good job of stacking the images in order to give DOF. I like the off center composition and lovely exposure. TFS.
