Ferruginous Pygmy Owl
 |
|
[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
From my recent vacation in Mexico.
Amazing how they can turn their heads around!
The ferruginous pygmy owl is small, typically 15 cm (5.9 in), and stocky with disproportionately large talons. The crown has elongated white/buff spots or streaks, the wing coverts have white spots, and the underparts are heavily streaked white.
The ferruginous pygmy owl (Glaucidium brasilianum) is a small owl that breeds in south-central Arizona in the United States, south through Mexico and Central America, to South America into Bolivia and Argentina. |

Hi Mario, great exposure to take so well this small owl, white sky in background but impossible to make different, impressive sharpness and bright colors, you escape in time from Mexico, now the hurricane is coming.Have a nice weekend and thanks,Luciano
Hello Mario,
Hope you are well. What an exquisite shot of this beautiful owl!Yes, they have this uncanny ability to turn their heads that's why when this same effect was used on that girl in the 70's famous horror movie The Exorcist, people went crazy.....smile. Thanks a lot for sharing a high quality shot, take care,
Best regards/Abid
great portrait. Really amazing how they turn their head - thats because they cannot move their eyes and ears
thanks for this beauty

Fun image of a charming (if not too happy looking) small owl.Fine details despite the white sky. Maybe you could erase the small blurred twig on the left, just above the main branch.
Impressive Mario , very nice picture.
Thanks for sharing.
