Plains Bison

There are two different species of Bison in North American, The Wood Bison and Plains Bison. Both were almost eradicated back in the 1800's. Thanks goodness a few people decided to try and save both species.

Bison can weigh up to 725 kg and live up to 40 years. They have an excellent sense of smell and can detect predators up to three kilometres away.

Males are known as bulls and females cows.

Hi Janice,
Hard to control the light, but you did a wonderful job pulling out the details in the faces of these magnificent mammals.

Hello Janice,
We don't often get to view these majestic animals that have made a remarkable comeback after almost being entirely eradicated by man. I like the low POV you managed to obtain, it gives us a great look at their unique features and huge size. Nicely focused and showing beautiful rich colors. The blue sky was an added bonus to an already wonderful scene.
"Happy New Year"
