|This is the egg larva of the Wall Brown|
The total length is only 4.6 mm. The first instar or L1-larva is recognized by the presence of only primary setae and a specific coloration pattern of the head capsule. The freshly hatched larva is light brown. After ingestion of grass, the whole body appears green.
The image has been generated by focus-stacking from only 6 individual pictures. Steps: 200 Ám.
Pictures were taken with a 50 mm lens in combination with a bellow.

What a wonderful image of the Wall Brown Caterpillar. The focus is razor sharp displaying fantastic detail and beautiful natural colors. Looks so real I believe I could actually reach out and touch it through my computer screen. Impressive photo to say the least!!

Fantastic macro of Lasiomata megera larvae, focus stacking was excellent, great sharpness and details every where, great DOF, very nice BG color.
