Nome Volgare: Dorila

Famiglia: Lycaenidae

Lunghezza ala anteriore mm. 14-18

Maschio: Colore blu celeste lucente con esile linea marginale nera e frange bianche

Femmina: colore bruno scuro talvolta presente una sfumatura basale blu violacea. Spazi submarginali arancio e frange grigio brunastre. Nelle ali anteriori tratti discocellulari neri.

Maschio-Rovescio: colore bruno molto pallido con bordo bianco. Disegno puntiforme nero contornato di bianco costituito da grossi punti nelle ali anteriori. Spazi submarginali arancio e sfumatura azzurrognola nelle ali posteriori.

Femmina-Rovescio: colore bruno chiaro con disegni simili al maschio ma generalmente più grande.

Distribuzione: tutta Italia escluse le isole

Habitat: specie xerotermofila, frequenta i prati dal piano basale a quello montano e cacuminale, sino a circa 2200 metri s.l.m.

Generazioni annuali: due con sfarfallamento in maggio-giugno e agosto

Piante nutrici: Anthyllis vulneraria.
