Buffy Fish Owl
 |
|
[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
I was hesitant posting this picture in TN since it was taken in a Bird Park in Malaysia. If this is not appropriate for TN, I will understand if it is deleted.
This bird is seen mostly in South East Asia ( Malaysia ,Thailand Indonesia and Burma) particularly in mangrove regions. Buffy fish owls do not build their own nests, but rather use the abandoned nests of other birds or a tree cavity.
Different from most any other kind of owl, the bill is placed on the face between the eyes rather below it, which is said to impart this fish owl with a "remarkably morose and sinister expression".
Though well fed and taken care of in the park, a “golden cage is still a cage”.

Hello Bala,
Nice portrait of this owl. Good sharpness and natural colors. The background is not the most attractive part, but the pose of the owl surely is. Nice catchlight in the eye.
Regards,
Peter

HI Bala,in effect i don't like easy pics taken in the park, but no problems,no one will delete your post..ehehe...because is very very nice,i like a lot the pose like a movie star, and the quality too is very high despite the difficult dark light. Have a nice weekend and thanks,Luciano
Hello Bala,
Beautiful Owl. Well captured. Good colour. Full bird could have been more attractive. But personally I don't like captivity picture. Your posted natural habitat pictures are more valuable than such captivity photo.
Thanks for showing,
Best regards and have a nice WE
