|This picture is literally oven-fresh; I shot it 15 minutes ago in the mellow light of the evening sun with my Sony compact camera. Zooming with this camera is a dicey job, but this result somehow satisfies me. Hope you too like it.|
The Himalayan bulbul (Pycnonotus leucogenys), or white-cheeked bulbul, is a species of songbird in the bulbul family found in central Asia.
Distribution and habitat
The species occurs in the northern regions of the Indian subcontinent and some adjoining areas. It is found in and near the Himalayas.
The Himalayan bulbul frequents forests and shrubland and also comes into gardens and parks.

A beautiful bird indeed and captured in an attractive crest raised pose. To me the sharpness isn't as crisp as you normally achieve with your Nikon D200 and Sigma 70-300 combination, I notice this especially in the breast area. Otherwise I love the excellent eye contact you obtained and the natural color tones. Composition wise, very good!

Hi Ram,good capture of this bulbul,the sharpness is good,not the best,but i thinks that it's difficult to make better considering the distance,perfect colors and nice composition. Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano
