[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The cicadas were out in full force last week in Oklahoma. Every evening after sunset I would venture outside in the darkness in hopes of finding a cicada emerging from its exoskeleton.

The trees, buildings, fences and even my grandchildrens tree hut was already covered with empty exoskeletons from previous night time hatches.

Ironically this particular cicada decided to hatch early in the morning on a very cloudy day. I was thrilled to be able to photograph it when the light was just right.

I will post in a WS one of my many night time images.

What a marvel of nature, Ron! This freshly emerged Cicada looks so delicate and beautiful with its transparent wings.
The image is so very life-like it does not look like a picture at all.

Hi Ron,

A fabulous macro of the Cicada. The clarity & the luminosity is superb. The colors are so natural and details so wonderfully captured.

Warm Regards,

Hello Ron,
Beautiful presentation of this Cicada. Beautiful colour and well BG. Sharp picture. In my test this picture could have been more attractive in vertical frame; before framing I always look carefully the subject whether it's in vertical or horizontal pose.
Thanks for sharing,
Regards and have a nice week,

Hello Ron,
Outstanding details and colors. The colors are truly amazing.

Just an unbeatable shot - perfection!

Wow Ron! Detailed to the slightest degree. Though noisy and obnoxious these are a true beauty in the natural world we are surrounded. Will be moving to Missouri in a year or so, and may have to do more nature shooting than scenics. Well Captured...

Wonderful colors Ron - the light was perfect and you caught the reflection from these iridescent wings beautifully. Its turned a rather nasty pest (we have had our share as well) into something quite beautiful.
