Unidentified Wasp
 |
|
[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This unidentified Wasp was seen resting on the cord of a fabric awning we have stretched over a terrace to reduce summer heat. The distance was quite a bit and shots of it with my 70-300mm lens did not look good. Then I mounted my 105mm macro on the camera and leaned precariously over the balustrade from the roof and quickly clicked thrice before the Wasp decided to take off into the void and never come back.
Brief Note on Wasp
A wasp is any insect of the order Hymenoptera and suborder Apocrita that is neither a bee nor an ant. The Apocrita have a common evolutionary ancestor and form a clade; wasps as a group do not form a clade, but are paraphyletic with respect to bees and ants.

Hello Ram,
Your camera and lens combination worked out perfectly in this fantastic shot. The detail is incredible and the color tone true and natural. I am at work right now on break viewing this on my iPhone. Amazing clarity!!
