[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hi Trekkers,

As this macrofungal species, the Split Gill (Schizophyllum commune Fr.) is widely distributed and is one of the most common one on Earth, I thought it's time to share a better photo of it than the bad one I posted here 10 years ago. Although very common, this species is not easy to photograph well as its underside (trama) is much more spectacular than the cap, and you have to be lucky enough to find specimens with such beautiful gills.

Photo was taken during my holiday in Hungary, in Bükk National Park. Manual exposure mode, ISO and white balance. PP: moderate cropping, slight level and color adjustment, re-sharpening after re-sizing.

Thanks for looking.

I agree, difficult to find in optimal development for photograph... always small or dry. :)
