Travis Bickle (Robert De Niro) talkin in a mirror: "You talkin' to me? You talkin' to me? You talkin' to me? Then who the hell else are you talkin' to? You talkin' to me? Well, I'm the only one here. Who do the f uck do you think you're talking to? Oh, yeah? Ok."

I thought it was about time to post another picture which suits my Movie Oneliner-theme. Because noone else is making an effort to contribute to the theme, I have to do it myself. ;) This classic movie oneliner comes from the fantastic movie Taxi Driver (1976).
This Bull Elk was shot by me in the morning on our campsite in Jasper. We stayed at the Whistler's campground and this Bull Elk was making scary noises all night long. Luckily for me, he was still there after a freezing night (-10 degrees celsius). The Bull Elk was as wild as it gets and was just passing through our campsite looking for a mate.

Red Deer (Cervus elaphus), known as elk or wapiti in North America, are the second largest species of deer in the world. The animal you see in the picture is the Rocky Mountain Elk. Contrary to popular belief, the Rocky Mountain elk was not an animal of the plains that retreated to the mountains because of the encroachment of man. Elk always lived in the Rocky Mountains. The current North American elk population is about 800,000.

Rocky Mountain elk bulls weigh 300-370 kg (700-800 lbs) and cows 200-250 kg (450-550 lbs). Bulls may stand five feet at the shoulder, with legs three feet long and body lengths of eight feet. Their coloration is generally tan with dark brown legs, neck, head and belly, with a buff colored rump. Bulls may be lighter colored than cows, appearing silver at times. White and silver colored animals do not appear in the wild. Antlers of mature bulls usually have six or more points per side with main beam lengths of 1.5 m (5 ft), inside spreads may reach 48 inches.
Jasper is located in Jasper National Park near the British Columbia/Alberta border at an altitude of 1,062 m.

It can be reached from the west and east by the Yellowhead Highway (Highway 16) and from the south by the Icefields Parkway (#93). The Icefields parkway begins at the intersection of Connaught Drive and the Yellowhead Highway.

Jasper is 287 km from Banff, Alberta, 362 km from Edmonton, Alberta, 414 km from Calgary, Alberta, and 863 km from Vancouver, British Columbia.

Hi Pieter, very nice shot. I like the pose he is giving you and it's a solid composition. I was in Jasper 15 years ago, but I wasn't there for long and I didn't have a camera then.

It's a great shot, well done.

No, I'm talking to Robert de Niro in the mirror ;-) Pieter - this is most popular title on TN ;-) I think that 'You talking to me?' theme could be on TN easily ;-) But seriously - very nice portrait of this royal animal. I like him on not much blurred BG with forest. Great job!

Superb shot Pieter!
Photo is perfectly framed and very good technically though maybe the focus on the head could've been better.
It's very interesting as well and I like it very much.

Excellent details and sharpness, great composition and great colours. Great work! Well done, Pieter.

Hey Pieter. A superb shot of this incredibly majestic creature. The pose is fantastic.
Excellent pov and sharpness. It's just a shame the trees were behind his head.
Thanks for posting.

Very good picture, very good pose of this deer.
The BG behind the deer's head is little bit distracting.

Great capture, with just the right amount of room on the left. Good sharp focus and the slightly blurred forest background give the impression of a wild place. Well done.

;-) Great title.
Personal assessment of the photo: excellent in all aspects. The only nit I can find is that pictures do not allow us to teleportate ourself where the shot was taken but gives us only the desire for going where the photo was taken. Ah! To be rich and famous, as wrote Callie!
Capacity of evocation in me: very strong.
Strong visual impact.
Aptness of the photo for the site: excellent.
Personal assessment of the note: complete.
Thank you very much Pieter.

Hi Pieter.
Sorry, I have missed this magnificent bull.

Maybe it's a slightly soft.
Great work, my friend.
