Travel to Tanzania (continuation). This time we are in the crater of GORONGORO, a fly of white birds (Bubulcus ibis) mask the elephant. Canon EOS 300 V, Gold Kodak 800 ISO, numerisation of negative with Coolscan 4 Nikon, NeatImage for the noise. The photograph is a little noisy, but I find this sequence full of life. I hope that you will like!

Amazing shot, full of life indeed, you could not possibly pack in more of that. Flying objects in this concentration are usually mosquitos... ;-)
Pity the birds are OE - difficult to correctly expose white birds, and I guess you went out to get shots of the larger dark thingy behind them!
As is, very good with a very high visual impact!
P.S. I think these are egrets - cattle egrets probably. The beak is straight and how they hold their heads/necks is very egret-like.
Regards,
Gabi

La surexposition reste un problème sur une image qui aurait été parfaite sans. Magnifique composition, un tableau naturaliste en somme.

Merci du partage.

I like this picture very much - real African soul. Hundreds of birds and an elephant in BG. Great composition and moment.

C'est étonnant de voir des éléphants en France, je pense qu'un petit correctif serait nécessaire au sujet du lieu de prise de vue je pense? Mais l'image est superbe.

Perfect shot:)) These Cattle Egrets seems to give a lesson to giant elephant.Very funny.Congrats Didier,

Hi Didier, yes it is a little noisy as you say and the Egrets are a little overexposed but that doesn't matter too much here as it is full of life and it has a marvellous atmosphere.

Well done.

Wonderful capture, Didier. It totally reminds me of the Hitchcock film which gives me nightmares everytime I see a big flock of birds, LOL! I love the elephant shadow in the background. Well done!
