[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Another postcard from our 2005's trips. Today blue sky and fantastic clouds over Bucegi Mountains in Romania. Unforgettable moment - first very exciting, 30 minutes long trip on cable-car from Busteni to about 2200 meters high to first mountain and then to the top - on foot. It was beginning of May, first warm days and we travelled wearing t-shirts and shorts over deep snow ;-) Views were breathtaking. Romanian mountains are amazing, I hope we'll return there some day.

Busteni has "Babele" and "Sphynx" - wind-modelled stone shapes in the Bucegi Massif, accesible throw cable-car. A modern chair-lift is in construction to the Diham and Poiana Izvoarelor chalets. Urlatoarea waterfall (half hour trail from Cable-Car lower station).
The second cable-car from the top of Caraiman mountain link Busteni with Pestera hotel and the unique Monastery in the cave.
On top of the Caraiman Massif, at 2,484 m altitude, there stands the WWI heroes memorial (a 40 m high cross, made of steel), build between 1926- 1928, in honour of the country's fallen soldiers defending Romania against Germany in the First World War.

Great landscape, Greg. There is another post of today with the Sphynx. Good traveller journal in your note. One think though (and don't be upset at me): there was no nazi Germany in the First World War, just the Imperial Germany.

Looks like a Lighthouse at the top of the mountain Greg!
I like your POV looking up the snowy rise to the blue sky and magnificent clouds. Sounds like a great place to see and travel to, especially on the cable-car.

Grzegorz, very beautiful colors and great exposure, in my opinion. Dealing white areas is not an easy task, and you had lots of whites.

Czesc, pieknie wylaniaja sie kumulusy... Nigdy nie widzialem Rumunii w sniegu. Wyglada zachecajaco :-) Ladnie naswietlone biele, choc kolorom brakuje troszke dynamiki...

Bardzo ładne zdjęcia... w każdym razie ta chmura była genialna - ślicznie wyrastała ze śniegu na linii horyzontu :>. To był wspaniały dzień - teraz tak uwazam, natomiast wtedy, na górze, z kazdym krokiem miałem coraz gorszy humor... w butach woda, po kolana w śniegu, końca nie widać... no i na zdjęcia coraz mniejszą ochotę miałem... jakieś krzywe narobiłem... :) Śnieg żółty trochę wyszedł i wogóle - nieciekawie :(.
