One day after my 30th birthday, we experienced a fantastic day with awesome weather in the Selkirk mountains. I hope you also like this view.

Mt Revelstoke National Park

This relatively small national park, just northeast of Revelstoke in the Selkirk Mountains, is known for jagged, rugged peaks and steep valleys. The view of these from Mt Revelstoke is excellent. Access to the mountain is along the 26km Meadows in the Sky Parkway (1.5km east of Revelstoke, off the Trans Canada Hwy), which leads through cedars, alpine meadows and near-tundra to Balsam Lake, within 1.5km of the 1920m summit. A trail continues to the top. You can also hike to the top from the base of Meadows in the Sky Parkway; it's 10km [four to five hours] one-way.

dan hoor je nu ook bij de oudere jongeren.
mooie compositie, lijkt me een mooi land, maar het lijkt me ook dat daar een hoop muggen zitten en dan ben ik meteen genezen. Goede foto Pieter en gefeliciteerd.

Hi Pieter,
Fantastic capture of this beautiful landscape with brilliant colours,
excellent composition, very good depth.
Thanks for sharing!

Glad to see you post something again, Pieter! Happy belated birthday, by the way...I had forgotten that you were turning 30!

Great job using the polarizer filter for the beautiful blue sky and pin sharp clouds. The trees in the foreground are not as sharp as I would like but I love the natural frame afforded by the trees. TFS!

Alli

Very nice landscape! The mountains on the background are beautiful!
Bye Tom

Very nice contrast in the colors, beautyfull deep blue sky and orange ground in the back of the trees.

With a tripod, could probably have use a f-stop of f/32 and a slower shutter speed to get a little better deep of field.

What do you think !

I am homesick when I see one of your wonderful images of BC, I left my heart out there a long time ago and hope to go back for it soon.

Pieter, colorful indeed - and very beautiful.

Excellent sharpness, pov and composition. I do enjoy saturation and contrast.

A great and pleasing image.

Hi Pieter,
it's so wonderful, I love this landscape very much. You have a natural frame with the two big trees on every side, very well done, thanks

Hi Pieter,
First, I am glad you have returned, I think you are a great asset to this site. Second, I love landscapes, I just live where it really isn't very scenic, so I mostly shoot them on vacations. Third, I think this is an excellent landscape. The composition is perfect, as is the framing of the shot using the taller trees on each side. Exposure is spot on with the beautiful saturated colors.I personally think landscapes loose more detail in the compression to this small size than other types of shots. I shoot all of mine off a tripod with a electronic shutter release, usually at f16 to f22. I have the 16-35 f2.8L which I think works well and does not appear to cause diffraction. This one rocks! Keep them coming!

HI Pieter,
a wonderful view wiht good deep.
Maybe the half tree to the left is a bit disturbing.
Very good POV, nice colours and good details.
Well done, my friend.

This reminds me of a viewmaster slide. Remember viewmaster? A while back I collected viewmaster slides going back 50 years. It's amazing to see parts of the world in highly saturated colour and glorious 3D. This reminds me of those because it's a dramatic scene, it's super sharp and the colours are very rich. Just like being there. If only it were in 3D.....

Hi Pieter!

Nice landscape, and it's from my country ;o)
Jokes apart, sharpness, exposure and DOF are great. Use of the polarizing filter rendered beautifull clouds against a dark blue sky.

Excellent picture and TFS.

Hi, Pieter.

Hi Pieter,
A very eye catching sky in this fine image! The clarity of the blue is amazing, the fluffy white clouds add to my pleasant experience...
