This is a falls named "Double Falls" Under these shooting conditions it was indeed "Double Trouble"! Talk about difficulty getting a good exposure. I suppose a warming filter and a neutral density graduated filter may have helped...neither of which I had with me. I took my smaller Olympus camera...it was enough trouble just to negotiate the icy ground.

I normally stick my husband in some of these shots...just for scale, but I didn't want to do that for TN. The falls are big enough to be quite inspiring.

Hi Evelynn,
Beautiful, I think it's fine without the filters. It looks so cold! It reminds me of Multnomah Falls in Oregon. Nice shot.

Another awesome fall and ice picture, Evelynn. I cannot keep up with you.
Despite the difficulties that you mentioned, you did a fantastic job on all counts, not the least of which is to get out of this place without slipping and sliding. This perspective of the falls and the juxtaposition of the ice on the side successfully show the graduation between rigidity and fluidity. Bravo, and TFS. : )

Hi Evelynn!
Beautiful water and ice! Wonderful view! Great exposition and colors! Well done!
TFS ;-)

Dorota

Wow, Evelynn,
this is marvelous, I love the mighty waterfall in the winter-season. Excellent shot with this silky-effect.
Are you also a member at TrekLens? There we have a Hunt and one theme is - moving water with a silky effect - this would be wonderful there ;-)
Thanks for sharing

Hello Evelynn,
A nice shot of these falls.
You've handled the exposure well and the composition is good showing the ice and fast moving waterfall.
A good shot.

TFS

great shot. The ice really shows up well and has the right colour. I don't think the warm up filter was needed.

Well done

Emma

I had to close the sound of my PC for to appreciate your beautifull photo.

Thank you Evelynn.

Now I must wipe my office ;-)

I would so love to be down there taking photos of the falls, but I can't even seem to get out to the gorge falls here. I love this shot, I've only seen the falls in summer so this is a treat....brrrrrr. Very well done. Thanks for telling me you posted these.

Hi Evelynn,
Early morning rush. well worth the big smiley.
Thanks for posting, have a good week.

Nice Shot Evelynn, very arty and good composed. Maybe you should try without the foreground just as an alternative, but then it would turn in to something different, regardless a very beautiful picture. Well done.

Best regards Anders.

Hi Evelynn

Sorry, in a bit of a rush today. No time for a proper critique, but well worth the big green :-) TFS.

Excellent combination of water and ice - very well exposed. A warming filter would have lost the cold feeling you cpatured here.

Hello Evelynn,
Very impressive catch of the action.
It looks great - although your husband kept dry. ;-) TFS Thomas

Evelynn
