[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
There are roadblocks everywhere in Botswana!

We tracked these two brothers early in the morning. They are about 20 feet away from our vehicle.

Handheld, on automatic mode. I will post a WS with a crop of the lion on the right - I'm not sure what I prefer.

Hello Ian

Stunning image. I like the sun on the lions head and his pose and expression. Your work shop is a winner. I love the crop.

Nice holiday snap type of picture, the low angled warm light on his face is great, would have looked great zoomed right in with that expression. From a commercial point of view, the tail of the second lion is cut off, and there is a little too much shadow (which has a blue cast) atthe bottom.

Still a nice reminder of a good holiday!

Great shot, very nice warm colors. Good details.
Well done.

Very nice capture Ian. The shadows really makes the subjects stand out more. Good capture. Well done

And yo got out and kindly asked them to move out of the way. The colors are beautiful and my only nit is that the tip of the one lions tail have been amputated. The front lion is stunning

Thanks for posting

Wow ! amazing encounter.. very nice color and light, you did great Ian,
Congratulations!

Hi Ian,

Very nice pic'. I personnally don't mind if the lion tail is a bit amputated...I didn't even notice it before reading the critiques. I love the tones, orange/brown and blue (shadow). The sunshine vs. the sahdow is perfect, all the more as it enlightens the lion's head looking straight at you. His expression is great, and well caught. I prefer the original picture, although your workshop is well done, because to me it's a better idea to see a pair of lions than just one. Indeed, it adds a story to the picture, and a dynamic.
