My wife and I went on a little photo safari to our local Japanese Friendship Garden and found this interesting tree in bloom. I have no idea what kind of tree it is. It just looked interesting.

Hello Arnold,

It's the young foliage of an "Acer palmatum" (Japanese maple).
There are more than 250 varieties and they are often used for Japanese gardens and bonsai. A real classical Japanese tree.

The picture lacks some DOF. This kind of close-up photo needs at least a f16 - f22 stop to show enough details.
