[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Another fastest land insect in the world taken at Ang Mo Kio Garden, "The Tiger Beetle". They are everywhere along the jogging pathways. At this time, Im fully prepared with soft paddings on my elbow and knees. Battery grip and lens hood were detached, my body flat and my chin touching the grounds so that I can have an eye level image of this little fella.

Set up info: 20D, T180mm, AV mode f16, Shutter speed 1/8, ISO400, Flash Metz54MZ-3 @ auto mode with OB (tilted about 45 degress angle).

Wonderful capture!! Admirable method to get him. Good job with the ISO, you have got him totally in focus and there does not seem to be noise in the pic. Excellent DOF!!
TFS :)

Very nice shot. Just for info. It is a Cicindella. In france we do have have Cicindella campestris, less impressive but also very beautiful; I also saw a relative in Sahara.

Cool shot Leo, I know from experience that these beetles are very fast and are pretty hard to capture. Very well done on this excellent image.

Hi Leo,
How did you manage to catch this tiger beetle so well? I know these species are so fast flyers and the details/colors/shrap are all just perfect! I like it a lot.

Hi Leo,
this is a great close-up with very good details and POV.
The DOF is very good too, enough to hold the entire insect within focus and the BG nicely OOF.
Very well done.
