[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This was taken during a minus tide at a nearby beach. I found the three horizontal color bands interesting The top third is above the water line. I don't know exactly why the other two bands below the water are two different colors. I guess " anemones of a color, stay with one another" Ha! sorry : P

Sea Anemone

Although Sea Anemones look like flowers, they are predatory animals. These invertebrates have no skeleton at all. They live attached to firm objects in the seas, usually the sea floor, rock, or coral, but they can slide around very slowly. Sea anemones are very long lived. There are over 1000 species of anemones found in coastal waters worldwide, in shallow waters (including coral reefs), and in deep oceans. They catch food using the tentacles, which have poisonous stingers (called nematocysts).

Classification: Kingdom Animalia (animals), Phylum Coelenterata (corals, jellyfish, sea anemones, hydroids), Class Anthozoa meaning "flower-like animals" (corals and sea anemones), Order Actiniaria.

Very interesting tableau, Evelynn.
I like the parallel horizontal layers of sea anemones, some open and some closed. The tentacles are well shown, as is the water within and around the anemones. Great palette of blue-greens.
Very cool, and TFS. : )

The detail visible in this picture is stunning. I really like the horizontal colour bands.

I had to read your note to realise that there was water in the picture!

the composition with the more saturated greens in the middle works nicely and those are some odd predators.

Hello Evelyn, this is the first time I've seen this. It's a great shot and the subject is pretty amazing. Lovely colours, fascinating subject and a very good composition. Very well done!

Hi Evelyn,
Like a window in a Jeweler Shop :-)
Interesting colours and I enjoy your notes.
You coped well with the water disturbances and provide sharp details.
I add your work to my new theme " under and above the seas"

Thanks for sharing.
Warm greetings from the Tzaneen Dam in Limpopo, South Africa
