I take this portrait of a big male in Chobe National Park (Botswana) in 2003.
The Chobe National Park, which is the second largest national park in Botswana and covers 10,566 square km, has one of the greatest concentrations of game found on the African continent. Its uniqueness in the abundance of wildlife and the true African nature of the region, offers a safari experience of a lifetime.

Hi Andrea,

Agood close up of the king, good POV and colors, well done and TFS,

Great portrait, Andrea! He looks very stern and fierce, yet peaceful.

I'm a big cat lover and must say that this is a very good shot. Great comp and i like the crop. TFS!

Good in your face capture wich I believe would be greatly improved if the focus was on the eyes rather than the nose

Bonjour Andrea
Très joli ce close up de cette belle face de fauve.belle présentation.
Merci et au revoir.....JP

Nice shot - I've never seen a male lion in Chobe (I've seen them elsewhere) only ever lionesses!! So you've got one up on me (though thats not hard!!) :)
Just wondered what aperture you used - maybe a smaller one would have improved the DOF in order to bring the eyes into focus too...
all in all a good shot...

The king of beast, well done on the colour and detail...very well composed...

Wooooh royalty portrait.

collosally powerful..you just lost a bit of lower jaw..
this is one shot i havent considered taking..must try it as well

Un primo piano fantastico che denota la fierezza e la forza dell'animale.
Well captured...
