[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Another view of the 25cm Golden Orb Spider (Nephila maculata), requested by Gerhard and Ricardo.
The previous shot and notes on this species can be found here .
I know this is not really sharp and the background is horrible, (wrong f-stop), but it gives an action view of the spiders back and the golden hue of the web. Here she has rushed down her web and is rapidly wrapping up a bug that flew into the web. Hope you like it.

Thats one big spider Chris.I remember these in the forest on Niue where I lived as a kid.
I know my wife would love to see this one...NOT.

YYeeesss! Chris, this is a great shot. Thank you so much for posting a follow up. I love the colourful joints it has. The big spiders such as this one are my favourite. Well done.

Anymore? :)

25cm ??? Well, I'm glad not to live in Australia :-) What a monster :-) I like yellow spots on its legs.

Otra muy buena imagen de este gigante de 8 patas.
Excelente agudeza con bellos detalles sobre la red, correcto DOF e iluminación artificial.
Espero puedas publicar otra imagen con la cara y los ojos del gigante.

I knew that Gerhard was going to like this shot, and I like it too. This seems to be a real big one that you captured very well.

Well done and thanks for posting

I really hate spiders, especially BIG spiders, but still it is facisnating that they can be so large. I although I've always wanted to visit Australia your photo might make me change my mind! ;)
