Endromis versicolora - family Endromididae.

One of the most beautifull caterpilars I know.
The imago is also very atractive.
You can find them in early spring on birch trees (Betula L.)

Hi Christopher,

Congratulations for capturing such a nice creature. There's plenty of young birches around here, and I saw empty cocoons, but still have not seen neither imagines nor lavae...

Best regards,

Very well done - Detail is great and good DOF. Like the comp.

Excellent colors and composition.
Great moment captured.

Those spots are actually very hypnotic if you look at them for a while. Must be that contrasting green and the rest of the geometry. Excelent capture

Looks like a very strong caterpillar bowing the leafe on this way. Very nice capture, you set the contrast well seeing green on green. I like the POV and the colors are great. Thanks.

5* and TFS!

Hi Christopher,
very pretty and interesting document of a well camouflaged caterpillar of pretty Endromis versicolora.
I have not been aware of how much that species resembles a hawkmoth's caterpillar. Fascinating.
Perfectly presented. Thank you!
Best regards,

I have to say that this is a very striking caterpillar. the white spots are white something...

very nicely done, but I couldn't help wondering, if you had just change position slightly... well never mind.

A very beautul caterpillar indeed, Christopher.
The details on it are very sharp and clear, and the color is just gorgeous. Good POV as well.
I appreciated the link that shows what it will metamorphose into. That is always interesting.
TFS. : )
