[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Saturnia pavonia - family Saturnidae.

It's really first day of Spring here ;-D
A lot of these fantastic moths has just go out from their winter cocoons. It's really fantastic view!
The picture presents the male - you can recognize it by special type of anntennae.
The butterflies are very attractive and could be noticed during a day. The caterpilars are also very nice - I'll try to upload also caterpilar of these specie.

Wow, what a beauty, Christoper.
Great colors and markings on those wings.
Those "eyes" are certainly very impressive.
Good POV of this colorful moth resting on that green mossy tree trunk. TFS. : )

Hi Christopher,
very nice presentation of Pavonia, the male.
Very beautiful setting and light, shaping the soft, hairy butterfly in a perfect and very appealing way. Due to a short depth of field the thorax seems to be slightly out of focus, but the centres of forewings are on spot.
Definitely a very good document, and a pretty shot, too.
Together with the female you presented that is a very nice and well done description of that pretty species.
Thank you! Best regards,
Peter

fantastic - would love to see the picture of the caterpiller as well.
