[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I took this shot with my marco lens. I wanted to try and see what sort of image would be produced by a macro being use like a telephoto lens. It seemed to work well except the DOF was very narrow. Only 1 of the duck heads is in focus. The 1 duck in focus is reasonably clear.

Hi Matt,
Very interesting composition IMO. Really like the staggered trio here, with the subject well focused. Great color and light. I might've been tempted to decapitate ;) the the duck in the corner, and apply a bit of USM
Well done.

Nice composition Matthew!
Thanks.

Hi Matt
So this is the literal part of getting your ducks in a row. Never again will that phrase have the same meaning to me, without me thinking of this photo.
The composition is great and the colours are very natural. The DOF is fine and the exposure was well handled.
Good work and TFS.

Yes, just like triplets. Good catch Matt, these Mallards are quite pretty birds. Good composition and colours, TFS

Composition is good on the three ducks, however the one in the foreground and the one in the background does distract my eyes. Maybe if taken from another angle you could've avoid this and get better framing.

Hi Matthew

they are like Comandoes in Games((((:
Cute shot, Nice POV and DOF. i also like the way they stand.
Well done

thanks for sharing

Matt Mate,

How do you know that we are not looking at Luey, Huey and Duey? OR.. well you get my "drift".

In any case, my ducks here are envious! They swim along with there heads down, - all in a row -, looking for all I can tell like a log in the water < that'd be a croq for you... > .

Tech talk: I think the effect you have achieved, < predictable with macro > is very nice. It makes that focussed duck < Duey? Huey? Luey? whatever ...> squat out!

So long from frigid Canada, eh! Jay
