Hypolimnas bolina (Linneaus, 1758)
The common names are great eggfly or common eggfly. They are called Blue Moon Butterfly in New Zealand.
Family: Nymphalidae
Subfamily: Nymphalinae
Latin Name: Hypolimnas bolina

This butterfly can be found in Madagascar in the west through to South and South-East Asia and occurs in parts of Australia and Japan.

It is a strong flier with wingspan of around 65-95 mm and males are territorial. Both female and male will open their wings when rest. The blue colour of the male wings will vary in different viewing angle.

In this picture the Eggfly is feeding on Buddleja paniculata Wall - a shrub bearing clusters of fragrant and delicate white flowers. The Thai name of this tree is rachawadi, meaning – the King’s flower.

Unusual but nice POV. That blue is really vibrant and the black wings contrast well with the white of the flower. BG has some noise but it's OK

Phonetically, I would interpret "rachawari" as "Raja Wari", which means almost the same thing in Hindi -- the language of north India.
Excellent capture as usual, Jitti. Both the butterfly and the flowers are beautiful.

Nice shot of this black and blue nutterfly!
The POV do not allow a good view of the butterfly.
