Dendrophylax lindenii, before named Polyrhiza lindenii.

There is a book about the quest for this orchid named The Orchid Thief.

It is leafless, so the photosyntesis seems to be made by the roots. They are quite fragrant at night to attract its polynizator which is a moth.

Fascinating flower, and beautifully illustrated against the dark background. A pity it couldn't be posted larger so that we could see more details.
Regards, Nigel.

Excellent photo of a unique specimen, Pedro. Contrast is good here isolating the orchid from the dark background. Very nice...

Simple beauty. Very well done. Regards Rob

not enough time to critque, but I like it. will come back tomorrow and edit critique in full

Better time today - I really love orchids and the way you have offset the flower against a black background, intentionaly or not, is wonderful. The actualy flower and long petal tails are excellently portraid here and you have done a really nice job on presentation. I only hope you have more of these to show. Well done.

Hola Pedro,
Never seen this before - it is a truly magnificent flower - so delicate. The dark BG brings out the best of the flower.
TFS - Shir

here really a beautiful orchid, it is gracious. And you development it really well. It looks like Angraecum eburneum which one finds at home... I've some orchids on my gallery.
Thanks for sharing
