An animal that probably not many of you know very good, the coati (Nasua narica). Somewhere between a racoon and a marten, the coati is a hard to find animal, very elusive.
"The white nosed coati is primarily diurnal, but males are sometimes nocturnal. They spend their days foraging for food on the ground and at night they sleep in the trees. Males are solitary, and mark their territory by spraying urine and anal secretions. The territories of males do not overlap. Males will fight other males when they meet. White nosed coatis live in bands of 4-20 individuals, mostly females and their young. Males over two years of age are kicked out of the band. Individuals in the band groom each other, and females will nurse each other's young. The band home ranges extend to over 1 km sq. and overlap other band home ranges. "
About this ,,on `shrooms,, effect and how to obtain it (posted after talking to Japie ) : You need well positioned above your subject, do a slower exposure, extend your arms towards it, when you shoot bring the camera towards you while tilting one side (upper in this case) . It really pays off to have a LCD monitor, the effect takes practise to a achieve, try it first with trees or even better with farm chikens (if any, hehehe ), its a self tought thing. This one with coati is the best I ever done ...

That'S a very good shot, after 2 minutes watching it, it gives a strange feeling.
It looks like everything is moving fast except of the Coati's head.
Very good capture.

A remarkable shot Radu. It looks like everything is moving except the Coati. How did you shoot this.

A particular image Radu... I adore this animal that I have known even like mascot.
A POV and presentation strange but pleasant.
You have requested me native animal publications... you can see 2 of them in Giant Anteater and Southern Crested-Caracara

In this case the softness works well to give the feeling of motion. I like your effect better than other ones like this that were created by using a LensBabbies lens.

I like the effect here. The animal has beautiful colors, and you did a great composition.

P.S.: I've been having some serious problems regarding my connection. If I "disappear", be sure I'll be back to check your photos as soon as possible.
