Red Damselfly

A new species of Damselfy... enough more small in this case that the previous ones presented of the Genus Ischnura, since in average, the sighted units did not surpass the 25mm. approximately.

A characteristic that also called my attention is that I have seen some pairs mating and in some cases, both are of the same color, unlike published others.

The color of this species is mainly red intense, except in its forcebody and without marks of other colors.

The eye is divided in 2 colors well delimited by a horizontal line... the brown superior side and the greenish celestial inferior side.

Ricardo you have a good macro here. I would maybe like to have seen a little more space in front otherwise no nits. Very nice post

Nice shot Ricardo, it's a bit too dark, and the focus a bit soft.
I like the eDamselfy's shadow.
Well done.

I agree with Philip's comment about brightness/contrast, but this is not a common damselfly to me (at least in Europe), and it widens the gallery diversity. Like Gert's magpie (common, but difficult to photography), these shots are, IMO, amongst the most valuable ones to illustrate nature's treasures in our respective regions. A well expressed note too, Ricardo.

Very good macro Ricardo.
Never seen this before.
Good details and colours, and I like the composition.
Maybe a fill-in flash to light up the shadows from the backlighting.Good note.
Very good work my friend.

Ricardo, outro grande macro, desta vez, esta bonita criatura. Ótima nitidez e ótimo DOF. Gosto muito também da sombra do inseto sobre a folha.

Shall I dive or.......

First of all I like diagonal composition of your photo, Ricardo. Second - good contrast with green leaf and red damselfly. And third - its fragile and sharply captured wings. Good work.

Very good macro Ricardo. I would also have to say that some fill flash might've helped. The natural light works well also with the added benefit of the included shadow seen. Very good detail for this small subject.. Great post of this new species!

Nice detailed post of a interesting critter. The colours are great. The light a bit dark but not bothersome. Well done.

Salut Ricardo.
Jolie demoiselle rouge.
Ta photo semble un peu sombre sur mon écran.
Excellente nettété des détails.
Composition un peu serrée autour de ton sujet.
Bonne note.

This is excellentcomposition with good sharpness. The image could have been a lighter, which would have added to the already high impact of the shot.

Very well done and thanks for posting
