Hung in Green Space
|[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note|
|I was hiking along a local forested path and spotted this little grove of the flower you see here. Using my telephoto lens at full zoom at around 6 feet away, I took this shot.|
I found it turned out rather interesting, as the flower itself almost loks to be floating amidst this sea of green, with the stalk below it sort of dreamily blending into the BG.
I found the contrast of this tiny flower to the surrounding greenery to be quite striking.
The flower was purposely framed to the far right in order to accomodate text to the left and below.
Tones were added to the flower to accentuate the purple, plus some sharpening was done.
Wish I had the tripod along on this one, as I think I could have gotten it a bit sharper that way. I usually leave the ISO at 100, but in this case I boosted it to 250 in order to give me a bit faster of a shutter speed.

Nice closeup Tim, your flower does look like it's floating in the air. A very calming photo.
I checked my Wildflower book and I think this is a Wild White Geranium. Of course I was looking at my Alberta Wild Flower book :)

I like the POV and the green color all around
Tripod is always useful.I write that because I forget it many times and the result is, not so clear photos.
