I thought I would take you back to when I had my first encounter with an odonata in Riyadh and that too inside my house!
I found this female Skimmer flying frantically around inside the house one afternoon, and you know what? My first reaction was: God in Heaven, is this a real dragonfly and that too INSIDE my house, or am I dreaming? Till then I had seen dragonflies on the TN with a degree of envy.
So pat came my camera out and the chase started. The poor thing soon got tired and settled on a cardboard box under the stairs. That is where I nailed her, my first dragonfly/damselfly in Riyadh, ha, ha ha!!!

This is that first shot I am posting today. The indoor BG is dull -- just a greyish blue wall and the light brown cardboard box.
For information on this species, please have a look at my previous posts.

Thanks for viewing.

Hello ram excllent details, Bg, POV, DOF Great Job, TFS Kyle

Very nice shot ! I like the BG, there are two contrasting colors that make a nice diagonal. Good sharpness and details, good composition and colors, nice POV. Well done !

Hi Ram,
I think this dragonfly is playing the ostrich!!
Nice diagonal framing with, as you indicated, quite unusual B\G. Still you managed the capture well with very good use of the flash

Hi Ram,
Although the pose looks like he was still trying to get away from you, you captured him well digitally. spot on exposure has given very nice colors and sharp detail. Looks good!
