This is a litte experiment. When you look at the picture you will straight away know why :-)

The butterfly is probably a female of Sooty copper (Lycaena tityrus). The name "sooty" refers more to colours of male while females are rather copper. In Poland they are called Lovely red. That's the closest translation I could figure out.

I found this butterfly on the same meadows where I took the three last pictures posted here. Again a low angle with sky in BG and again perfect light allowed me to take picture withough flash.

Hi Monika,

I think your experiment succeeded,I like the composition, butterfly has got good sharpness and details and the unusual blurred BG completes the picture,
well done and TFS

Paul

Hey Monika, the world is upside down!! But of course, it is POLAND!! Super sharp capture of the butterfly, as ahe stands out so well against the blurred mad world behind him. And your world behind is very attractive with the buttercups and grasses, and that BLUE sky!!
Well done,
Janice

Hey! What is it going! If i'm in low tension or the sky and the earth are upside down! Very interesting chose. But I can say that i prefer normal frame :-) Focusing, sharpness, colours on the butterfly all are just perfect! The great details, colours and patterns on the wings! Thank you!
Ersin

Hi Monika ! Strange picture, very unusual, but I like it. Was a great idea from you. Technically I would say this photo is perfect ; excellent details and colors, beautiful BG with flowers and blus sky, nicely blurred, wonderful composition and POV... Very well done !

Hello Monika,

I would personally prefer it the right way up! But I seem to be in a minority there :-)

It's a good detailed shot with nice light. Well done.

Hi Monika
Like this low angle macro picture.Feel different with normal macro works.

Hi Monika,
I don't know the intent of the experiment but if it is to make people dizzy it works :-) I find this very disorientating. I'll talk about it the right way up: Nice shot :-) nicely framed, good DOF, beautiful light and colours again. There is something a little odd about the contrast on the Butterfly, it looks quite strong against the background. A *very* minor nit though, probably just the light. Nice work and I'm looking forward to finding out what the experiment is :-)
Cheers,
Adrian

Hi Monika!
Ouch! I broke my neck! Is this frame from one of famous catastrophic Hollywood blockbusters :-) ? Real avant garde - but what you think about turning this picture 90 degrees clockwise?
Seriously - SkyBG [TM] as always looks great. Sun, yellow flowers, Rumex and last but not least butterfly. Great meadow picture. I like it. Story in note is missing :-)

Hi Monika

A lovely shot. Nicely composed with excellent exposure, POV and exposure. Lighting is spot on. Nice work. :-)

Hi Monika,
Very beautiful! Colors and detail look great. I got a kink in my neck trying to view it, but I think it looks great!

Hello Monika,
I prefer the right way up version, as I can concentrate better on the beautiful details of the butterfly.
Technically a excellent shot!

Hi Monika, I like it, it makes me feel that I am lying down in the meadow to look at this butterly but I think I still prefer the boring way. Had you considered a more diagonal angle when taking the shot, i.e. with the flower up right at 90 degrees but the ground at a slant, just a thought not sure if it would have worked though. Anyway everything else perfect, just going to get some physiotherapy on my neck now, I think a lot of TNers will be out of action after this one. Well done and TFS.
Dean.

Hi Monika,
I thought that the sky was a river or lake! Good experiment! Color, details, composition and sharpness are great here!

Hello Monika,
Good detail, colours and sharpness. exposure and lighting are good. I'm not keen on the image being the wrong way. I keep wanting to twist my head to see it the right way around.....sorry.

Thanks for posting, have a great week my friend.

Witaj Moniko,

Super wyszło, nietypowy kadr - rewelacja!
Podoba sie bardzo.

Pozdrowienia,
Norbert

Am I getting another bout of vertigo or is this a Thistle special on compo? Its a challenging image for me to critique Monika. Hmm I do like it, the colours, the clarity of image and butterflies POV view of their magical world. well done.

Nica shot of a Lycaenidae Monika!
Yes, it's a female of Lycaena tityrus (Poda, 1761).
Very good POV, and colours!
Good DOF and details too!
5* and TFS!

Bardzo ładnie - nie wiem tylko dlaczego muszę przekręcać głowę aby dopasować się do linii horyzontu ;-D
Tylko żartowałem - piękne jest.

Hi Monika.
Great butterfly and great photo. DOF, POV and BG are perfect. Colours, sharpness and details are excellent. Your experiment is absolutely successful. Bravo.
Alexei.

Hi Monika,
I have to cover the right half of the picture to fully appreciate otherwise I tend to turn my head 90 degree in orientation to the sky. Insects are more fortunate they seem to go about at 360 degree on flowers without any problem. Another excellent work. TFS.

Lovely picture Thistle. We don't have thes in uk but if we did they would be well photographed because htey are so beautiful. I love the angle/pov, a wonderful shot.
