I borrowed a friend's macro lens for an afternoon and soon discovered this fellow scurying down this log. I would think on a dark brown surface, he would be invisible, but on this bleached surface, he stood out promiently. Other than the frame and USM, I did no post-production work on this at all. |

It's a good-looking cerambycid (Longhorn)beetle, but the trouble is that it turns out very dark (at least on my screen) so that the details are lost.
I posted a WS with a bit more brightness. See if you like it.

I agree with pgmoni that it is a little dark however I can still see lots of detail on my screen. I really like the composition and the way the framing matches the colour and texture of the log. Good work.
