Female Mallard

Today there were many female mallards on the pond at Army Bay, along with many Pukeko. The male mallard was nowhere to be seen. Maybe she had way to much to say and the boys had gone fishing!

Lucky boys Pam. All she get is sunstroke on her tonque. Just kidding.
Excellent shot Pam. One the best this year.
Good work. Into my favourites

She so speaks that she drools, this female, Pam! ;-)
Great POV. I particulary like the reflection in this blue water.
Good work.

Very good one Pam,
The sharpnes of the duck is great, the colours are good, and the balance in the photo is very nice. The dropp on his beak is a very nice detail, lovely job you did. well done

To me, this is one of your sharpest shots yet and the droplet adds a lot of impact. The composition is great and I just love the heading.

Very well done and thanks for posting

Hi Pam
Is this not always so? She must be related to Japies Mother-in-law!
A splendid picture of this common duck the droplet makes this one soar!

Great reflection. One second later and you would have got the dribble landing on the water. I think she looks happy that the boys aren't around.
Well done Pam

This is an amazing photo! It is one that I could look at for a long period of time and not tire of. The clarity, color , the slight ripple of the water in front of her body, and especially that perfect droplet suspended from her beak...I am still waiting for it to hit the pond. Thank you for posting.

Beautifully clear photo. I love the crystal clear reflection!

Hi Pam
Great shot so clear
Good work.
