This is river Gaula, and the picture is taken about 12 km from where the river exits into the fjord.

Gaula is among the top Norwegian salmon rivers every year; in 2005 the quantity taken by rod fishers was 40.000 kilo Atlantic salmon.

Some parts of the river, usually the best parts, are regretfully developing into a playground for the rich… Last week 600 m of one side of the river was sold for US$ 400.000, and that was not even a very good stretch of the river.

Hi Pablo
In my opinion you captured this shot in the best of possible ways.
The composition was well thought out with the trees on either side framing the shot (and the one on the right almost concealing the building). The vegetation in the foreground giving it depth and dimension and looking down the river as it flows along the bend and out of view. The horizon lies ± on the 1/3 horizontal axis and the vegetation on the 2/3 horizontal axis.
The colours are brilliant and the details are very sharp with the DOF showing excellent focus from the FG right into infinity in the BG. The exposure was spot-on and very well managed.
Great work and TFS.

Bonjour Pablo

«...developing into a playground for the rich…» c'est vraiment triste. Nous avions un tel problème, mais maintenant nous devons être très vigilants pour éviter ce genre d'envahissement.

The foreground, the river, the mid-ground and the sky are four components that merge together to make the symphony of this beautiful landscape, Pablo.
I love the flowers in the foreground.
The perspective is well chosen and the depth of view is ideal.
Thanks for giving joy.

Hi Pablo, nice landscape, well composed and colorfull.

Hi Pablo,

Good detail, colours and sharpness. exposure and lighting are good. Good POV and composition.
It's a real shame that these beautiful areas are being destroyed for property development.

Thanks for posting, Have a wonderful weekend.

Hi Pablo,
Another river from the paradaise! Composition, color and reflection are superb!
A lovely shot my friend,
José M.

Superbe, Pablo,
this view is so beautiful, you are living in such a wonderful country. The trees are like a natural frame and the yellow flowers are the colour-spots, very nice arrangement, thanks

Hi Paulo.
This is one of the best panoramic shots I have seen because you have in it covered all the angles in a great composition.
The colors and details are superb and the use of POV and the definition of the DOF make this panoramic perfect.
The details in the front and back of the picture have the right details and the angles of elevation and the center point are in the right place.

Progress! Sad to see happen, but ...
It is a lovely stream Pablo, and I guess in winter this is covered in show all the time? As Loot says, your 1/3rds are the best! I might have cloned out the red building myself, but it is a wonderful scene, thank you

Hello Pablo,
Magnificent landscape.I liked POV,colors,large DOF,perspective,framing and composition a lot.

Nice to hear that the salmon still around.

I agree with liquidsunshine that that these beautiful areas are being destroyed for
property development.

I found that trees from both side quite a bit distracting, so as the two development features on the right.

HelloPablo, excllent details, Bg,POV, DOF Perfect colors, Excllent Job, TFS kYle

Hi Pablo ! Another wonderful shot from you ! Everything is perfect here : details, colors, exposure, POV, composition and DOF. It's a shame that such a beautiful river are turning in what you call "playground for the rich". Nature is slowly regressing, everywhere. One day there will be nothing left if we do nothing...

Hi Pablo!
This is a very beautiful riverscape - enframed in a natural flower frame. This gives us depth and ta feeling of presence.

Hi Pablo,
What a beautiful natural river with such great shorelines. The bend in the river is so well captured and gives great depth in the photo. This remind me a little of the rivers flowing in Montana. I am sure that you would like the Montana landscape as well since my parents told me that it has so much incommon with the beautiful Norway nature.

Hello again Pablo, Another great photo with lots of color. Good composition. Is there a red roof on the right side of the photo? It caught my eye. If so, it might be worth trying a crop to remove it. Just an idea. TFS!

Hi Pablo,
Nice landscape, well composed and saturated.

Money is the root of all evil; it can buy "almost" anything.
I had heard of the GAULA but I'd never heard that it had such a huge traffic of fish and anglers too.
BEAUTIFUL VISTA. Great capture.
Love the yellow in the F/G. Look like gold nuggets. Maybe that's why they paid out $400,000.OO for it.
It the GOLD rush; not the fishing craze. ???
Best regards,

Superb scene, Pablo -- I love the colours, the frame of trees and the spot of red that tells me that this pristine scene survives amidst human habitation
