[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I took this shot not far from my house. I was out shooting birds but found this little guy just begging to be photographed. The flower is called mimosa and is actually a tree. The subject was about 10 feet over my head. I really didn't think it would turn out to be much of a photo until I got it home on the computer and played with it for a while. I have a number of edits of this little guy but this I like the most.

I like it. The Mimosa colors really complement the butterfly's color. Nice DOF and sharpness. How about some info on the type of butterfly?

What a smart Papilio machaon that you have well captured ! The composition with Mimosa is lovely. Exposure, DOF and sharpness are very good ! Congratulations Tom and thanks for sharing this beauty.

The colors in this beautiful picture appeal to me a lot, the details are tack sharp all with a nice POV. The Mimosa is a gorgeaous tree, I would like to see more pictures of it. :)

phantastic picture of butterfly and flower and a perfect contrasting background for both.
I see that you (like me) work with an Olympus E1, not so often used by other TrekNature contributors.
