Dragonfly eating dragonfly.

This is related to my posting of yesterday. Same actors; different theater (different bush).

This one was from my first approach: last pic done with telezoom. Then I switched to super-macro, took pics from too far away and the dragonfly took off for another bush. (from this other bush, I succeeded with supermacro: see yesterday posting. See more comment there too about Anax emperator and the scene)

cropped 80%, autolevels

The one eating is surely a male blue emperor. I believe the prey to be a female migrant hawker (Aeshna mixta) but I'm not sure.

Great cpature!
The specie is an Anax imperator. No idea about the prey's ID! But it is another dragonfly.
Excellent DOF and stunning on details!
Very good POV and colours!
5* and TFS!

Fantastic action picture and the Emperor is beautiful with sharp details. I wonder how common they are in Holland. We had a few visitors in south Sweden this summer, very rare!

Saludos cordiales... Ricardo

Excellent capture Jean Marie for her composition and opportunism of the shot.
Very good POV and DOF that it allows to appreciate the insects with clarity and natural coloring.
The background isn't completely diffuse, but non be unworthy of the quality of the image.
Do you use manual control of the apeture?
Cordial greetings... Ricardo
