Great shot Lissa. Good sharpness and DOF with oof background. These owls are unusually present in Montreal area these days. Very good note.
Subject would have benefit to be on the right of the frame imo + Zoomed out a bit would have included the whole tail and show less of the wire.
I like the way the subject stands out from the Background.

It is normal for the Great Grey Owl to travel south. There is a cycle in lemmings, rabbits etc. This year it looks that the cycle is low. Further research on the species will help on your note.
Excelent capture well done on your composition.
The Female is bigger then the Male.

Lissa, nice image. DoF is good, but it is a shame that part of the tail is missing. TFS

Hi lissa, a good shot, bu t I would like to see a bit sharpness on eyes and the tail completely, may be a perpendicular shot would be better. As I know the sexes looks like similar in owls, except snowy owl. Thanks for sharing.

Great improvement since your first Great Grey Owl posted. Just regret the tail is out of the frame, but otherwise, it's tack sharp, on a good background, and the soft light works well on the feathers. Congratulations for getting finally such a close shot.
