[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
For my 100th post I thought I'd try a macro. I've used my extension tubes on flowers (but these were cultivated so they are posted on TrekLens). That meant I'd have to go after an insect. Boy, compared to flowers, even in the wind, insects are hard! I alwlays had respect for the people who took insect macros, but I have even more now!

From a couple hours in the garden I think I have a much better understanding of bee behavior (and the expression "the birds and the bees." After watching the bees land on a flower, and engage in their little bee dance, than dash off to do the same on the next flower, I also think I have picked up some repulsion for bee sexuality! Sheesh, no thought at all in selection, just any flower that is available. And barely a moment between each flower.

Anyway, thanks to all of you for your help -- sharing your own photos, critiquing mine and others', workshops, technical tips, and even friendly asides. It's been a great 7 months!

You got a 100 here as well? I actually got no idea if I have reached that milestone, maybe I've already passed it. Anyway, great shot with the bee in flight. Details and colors are perfect. Light might have been a little too harsh, but you controlled it good.

Hi Mike

Well done on your 100th post, well captured inflight macro shot, the detail & sharpness on the Bee is really good and the blurring behind makes it stand out nicely.
I have ran out of Smilies so points tomorrow
