|An afternoon in Masinagudi, my favourite trekking destination in the south. The greenery bewilders you as do the abundance of wildlife! It is the most likely place in south India where you might come across a tiger or leopard on their evening stroll. Bordering the Mudumalai Wildlife Sanctuary of Tamil Nadu and Moyar forests and Bandipura Tiger Reserve of Karnataka, the grassland-savannah mosaic vegetation of the Masinagudi supports an abundance of game like Cheetal, Sambar, Gaur, wild boar, Peafowl and elephants. Occassional sighting of Blackbuck is also possible, as I can testify! Carnivores like Tiger, leopard, wild dogs, Sloth bear, etc are regularly encountered. These plains, as I found out to my pleasure, is a birder's paradise!|
