Green Lacewing - Chrysoperla carnea.

Green lacewings are insects in the very large family
Chrysopidae of the order Neuroptera. There are three
subfamilies (Apochrysinae, Nothochrysinae and
Chrysopinae), 87 genera and about 1,300 species.

Lacewings are widespread insects; the genus
Chrysoperla is very common in North America. Their
larvae are voracious predators, attacking most insects
of suitable size, especially soft-bodied ones (aphids,
caterpillars and other insect larvae, insect eggs).
Adults use substrate vibrations as a form of
communication, especially during courtship; species
which are nearly identical morphologically may
sometimes be separated more easily based on their
mating signals.

In several countries, millions of lacewings are reared
for sale as biological control agents of insect and
mite pests in agriculture and gardens. They are
distributed as eggs, since they are highly aggressive
and cannibalistic. The eggs hatch in the field,
originating the predatory larvae. Their performance is
variable; thus, there is a lot of interest on further
improvement of the use of lacewings as biological pest

Unglaublich wie viele Details man hier sehen kann, Thorsten, die meisten Leute beachten diese schöne Fliege gar nicht, ich aber mag diese wunderschöne grüne Farbe.

Hi Thor,
Congratulations on reaching 150! I love the format and composition you've used here, very artistic. Great flash control gives a great exposure with just enough light in the BG to make it interesting and add some depth. Nice detail, great view of the wings. Great shot!

Hi Thorsten.
I know this insect very well. I have its shots in my collection But yours is wonderful. Excellent composed picture, great details and colours, lighting and contrast. Well done and TFS.

Hello Thor,
Very good shot! These are called Goldeneye in Poland. I think the vertical and tight framing really works here, I like POV too. I just wish the eye was more clearly visible cause when you use flash eyes of these creatures look like a rainbow.
Overall, you did well on this one!

Hi Thorsten,
Nice macro with great colours and details. Very well done and TFS.
