Everest. Chomolungma. Sagarmatha. Even my 6-year old daughter knows the name of that mountain. A piece of black rock 8848 m high like a magnet attracts climbers from all over the world. Technically its not that difficult to climb Everest, but altitude and ambitions killed many of those who wanted to be higher than everybody else.

This is the south face of the mountain as seen from Kala Patar - a 5600 m hill above the base camp in Nepal's Khumbu region. If you look carefully, you can see a rope hanging from the top of the mountain.

Nice composition, but I would prefer a larger post.

Excelent view of this mountain, I'm looking forward to seeing Ararat. :)The side Noah's ark is on.
Well done on this composition.

Points tomorrow, I ran out.

As big as the human ego !

Beautiful picture, I like the dark sky wich bring attention to the moutain. Exposure is good, and tonal gradation complete with detail in shadows and highlights. Finally, both hill on lower left and lower right side don't give you any choice of entering in the center to climb the main mountain. TFS

Wow, so thats the mighty beast, well looks like a clear day did you go to the top? Or a base camp trip. Still must be great to be close to such sight. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Mikhail

''technically it is not that difficult to difficult climb Everest...'' :-))
