Hello All..

We are back to the Osprey. My favorite challenge. In our area, the babies are now grown and have mostly left the nests. Just like adult children, there are a few that just won't leave home. :-}

As always advice, opinions and critiques are greatly encouraged.

Have a wonderful day....Kathy

*****************
Cool Facts

* The Osprey readily builds its nest on manmade structures, such as telephone poles, channel markers, duck blinds, and nest platforms designed especially for it. Such platforms have become an important tool in reestablishing Ospreys in areas where they had disappeared. In some areas nests are placed almost exclusively on artificial structures.

* Osprey eggs do not hatch all at once, but instead the first chick hatches out up to five days before the last one. The older chick dominates its younger siblings, and can monopolize the food brought by the parents. If food is abundant, little aggression is seen amongst the chicks, but if food is limited, the younger chicks often starve.

* The Osprey is a fish-eating specialist, with live fish accounting for about 99% of its diet. Barbed pads on the soles of its feet help it grip slippery fish. When an Osprey takes a large fish to its nest, it carries the fish headfirst to make it as aerodynamic as possible.

Mi piace questa foto anche per come l'hai lavorata. Ciao gigicacco

Hi Kathy, awesome presentation! Ok, simple composition but coupled with the framing (especially the shadows behind the wing tip feathers)... simply awesome! I could write loads of 'blah' but 'outstanding' should cover it. Good note as well. TFS. Well done, regards, Tim.

Hi,

Great capture and excellent presentation. Thanks for the note as well.
Regards.
Brian

Hi Kathy,

A beautiful presentation, Kathy.
The osprey is gorgeous with his wings spread wide. The details and light on them are amazing. Great POV and very creative framing.
TFS. : )

I would love to know how did you get the bird wings out of the frame like that, I have been trying to figure it out. Love the presentation.

Hello Khaty, nice compo really well managed.
Excellent in-flight shot with great sdetails.

Andrea

Nice capture. Nice work done on the picture (nicely done. Not always easy to cut along the feathers)

Hi Kathy,
First, the inflight shot on the Osprey is excellent. Good quality light and a spot on exposure rendered nice beautiful colors and sharp detail from wing tip to wing tip. Second your PP work is very cool here. I am usually not a big fan of this, but I have to admit this does look great. I like the drop shadow on the wing tips off the inner framing. Nice touch! Third, I am outta points, so like ARNOLD says "Ill be back"

hi kathy
l'oiseau est magnifique avec de bons details et une netteté impeccable, mais la ce qui est le mieux realisé c'est le travail de retouche pour l'encadrement.
