[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Uploading dragonfly images have been fairly popular on TN for quite some time and I'm a little late to the party. I couldn't make up my mind as to which shot of mine to post and after initially thinking I should upload 1:1 macro of the largest dragonflie's head I went in the opposite direction and decided to post a shot of the smallest one (3/4-1"). I wish the entire backgrond was as bright as the lower part, but I was supporting the camera with my elbows on the ground and couldn't get it any higher. For this shot I had to use the flash even though there was plenty of sunshine, because each time the dragonfly sat it pointed its tail directly at the sun, meaning the front of the body was in the shadow. Thanks for looking and have a fruitful weekend (it might be raining here, not too much shooting fun for me).

Hi Mark, outstanding macro. Excellent details, colours and lighting. Great pose captured and very well positioned within the frame. I also think the darker colour at the top highlights the wings a bit more. Very well done and TFS.

P.S. I noticed a comment you made to Gert about noise, there is a program called 'Neat Image' that is very good for getting rid of noise. The basic version can be downloaded for free off the internet and I wouldn't be without it especially with the old FZ5.

HI Mark,

Hi Mark.
Your dragonfly picture is very original and expressive. Brilliant colours of the insect, amazing BG with its passage from terrible darkness on the top to light-asserting light green-sand colour. Composition is excellent as usual. Great work, mi compliments.

Hello Mark,
It is a very pleasant composition with this dragonfly!
Excellent macro work, with great colours and sharp fine details...
Framing is well done, the background is enhancing the subject!
