You're a frog I'm a frog Kiss me,
And I'll turn into a prince suddenly
Donne moé des peanuts,
J'men va t'chanter Alouette sans fausse note...
The frog song
paroles: Jean Chevrier. Musique: Robert Charlebois

Yesterday. In January 17th, 2005, I returned to Ecomuseum, alone by bus with my camera. Cloudy, cold, snow-covered day.
Being almost frozen (fingers and feet, but not my heart.;-)) to photograph birds, lynxs, wolves, foxes and the other animals I returned to the main building of Ecomuseum.
In the basement, we find there a magnificent permanent exhibition of fishes, amphibians and reptiles.
I have already presented you a Painted turtle and a Common Garter Snake that I photographed in this place.
I had brought my closed-up lens with me and I took advantage of it to test it on subjects through glass walls.
I admit that I am rather satisfied (but not completly, of course) with the result and that is why I present you this photo today.
And I wish ardently that it will arouse some reactions of your part to warm me a little ;-).
And for the others, thanks for looking at it.

Now some info on Bullfrog gleaned here:
Physical Description: North American bullfrogs are the largest true frog found in North America, weighing up to 0.5 kg and 203 mm in length.
Typical length ranges from 90 to 152 mm.
Color varies from brownish to shades of green, often with spots or blotches of a darker color about the back. The hind feet are fully webbed.
The sex of an adult bullfrog can be easily determined by examining the size of the tympanum (the external ear of the frog) relative to that of the eye.
The tympanum is a round circle located on the side of the head near the eye, and in males it is much larger than the eye. In females the tympanum is as large or smaller than the eye.
Also, during the breeding season the throat of the male bullfrog is yellow, whereas the female's is white.

Luc, what a POV!!!! now there's a shot. Perfect, no complaints from this end. 1000 points for originality.
Back in my childhood days, I caught these by hand. They were fun to catch.

Hey, the artist is his own worst critic.

Wow, great shot. That's the biggest eye I've ever seen :-) Absolutely wonderful, you have done really excellent job.

Great pov Luc - you must have been almost down on your belly to get this angle;-) and in addition a nearly perfect reflection. Wonderful details on a perfect background in an interesting composition - well done, this is a great one indeed.

What a pity there was glass between you, or you could have kissed him and turned him into a prince.. or did I get it all wrong? ;-))
The capture's nice and sharp, good DOF, nice reflection (the roof?) in his eye, but some trees would have been nicer ;-))

Jesus Crist!!!! This is amazing! Beautiful, beautiful!! Hey Luc, just perfect. Very nice composition whith excellent colours and sharpness. The details are great. I love this photo.

Congratulations.

Alexandre

Gorgeous portrait of a frog prince. The color and clarity are amazing and the reflection is wonderful. The perspective gives the composition the kind of appeal to draw the viewer closer. The reflection of lights, made me stop for a bit, but the oval shape created a nice repeating pattern, which allowed me to move through the frame. Well done.

Luc, This is great! Love the way this one came out with all the reflective action here..Very unique with great impact. Hey, this one will make you famous! ;-))

Quel oeil! Magnifique Luc, je suis impressionné par cette photo macro. Très réussi. Beaux détails, beau reflet. La tonalité en vert est bien agréable. Je ne peux m'empêcher de fredonner en regardant la photo et son titre. Bravo!

A great shot. Looks like a cover shot for National Geographic.

Luc, wonderful photo. Another very beautiful one coming from you.

Something grabbed my attention: 1/5?! I find it amazing because it seems you didn't use a tripod. How to get such sharpness by using 1/5?

Fantastic composition, POV, colors and note.

Congratulations.

Lívio

impressionant portrait de ce batracien !
les detail de la peau et la viscosité sont vraiment bien transmis.
tres bon travail.

What big eyes you've got, Grandma? Looks like he is keeping an eye on you as well, NOw now you may try to kiss him and then YOU will end-up with warts!
A beautiful picture this LUC, well done. And it gives off its own warmth too.

One of your best, Luc! Fantastic, clear and sharp close-up. Great BG and reflection in the water. How many diopters has got your new close-up lens?

Well done, Luc. It is a very pleasing image that is guaranteed to leave the viewer smiling!

Great shot Luc.
I have looked a very long time on this.
Maybe on of your best. You handle the macro lens very good.
I specially like the light and the big eye.
Very good sharpness, details, colours and a very nice pose.
Just a small nit that you cut the reflection.
Great work.

Pionts later, out of cents as usual

spectuculair shot Luc,
What a great macro, fantastic composing super photo, good balance exelent pof and dof, very good note, Yes I like it.

Luc, this is an amazing shot! I would expect to see something like this in National Geographic. How inspiring. Thank you for sharing it with me/us. Sincerely, Anna-Lu
