Back to the landscapes today... This was taken early on in my holiday whilst we were still on the mainland.

I was informed by my mother that whilst I was enjoying this weather (having even gotten sunburnt on this very day), the rest of Scotland was fog bound and every flight to any from a Scottish airport had been grounded for 2 days!

If you look carefully to the left of the picture, you will see the fog rolling over the mountains and spilling out on to the flatter land around the coast.

The fog never made it to us I am glad to say, but did make us start our route back to the tent as a precaution... If it had have made it to us, then the visibility would have been nil and finding the tent would have been very difficult even with it being bright orange.

So what you are looking at here is the very far north west of Scotland just before Cape Wrath. This was one of our walks out of the campsite to find a suitable cliff edge of cook and eat our evening meal on. It was the end of the meal before the midge and clegs found us!

Converted from RAW, cropped and resized. Everything else is as it was.

Please note that my broadband at home is still down...

Another lovely shot of gloriously dramatic Scotland and I love those clouds - they can be so beautiful. Did you take any telephoto shots of the clouds and mountains?
TFS, and patience with the broadband :-)

Hi Emma,

Another lovely panaramic image from a beautiful part of the world. The sky is very dramatic and adds great mood to the shot. A minor nit, and I'm sure you have already noticed, the horizon is not quite level. Something that can easily be addressed though and doesn't spoil the overall impact. TFS.

I hope your broadband is up and running soon.

Regards, Mark.

Hi Emma,
Great landscape. You managed the light, focus and colours very well. I like it. Succesful. Congratulations, dear friend. Superb capture.
Sincere greetings

Hello Emma,
Lovely landscape, nothing wild just very appealing! Looks a lot like some places in Norway...
You are framing a nice view here, with mountains, moors, lakes... Good natural colours and fine details!
Fog can look good in pictures, but........ be careful!

Bonito paisaje Emma por su composición (aunque personalmente hubiese quitado algo del extremo inferior e incluso publicado una versión Panorama de la misma), colorido y nitidez.
Un hermoso sitio muy bien retratado.
Gracias y saludos... Ricardo

Beautiful landscape Emma for their composition, coloring and clarity (although personally has removed something of the inferior margin and in fact published a version Panorama of the same one).
A beautiful place very well depicted.
Thank you and greetings... Ricardo

Hi Emma,
I am gald you explained the tilt to mark, because I was struggeling with it myself. The light in this photo is really beautiful creating a warm color tone to the grass and mountains. A great looikg cloud and for formation in the distance which looks really thick.

Hello Emma, excellent colors, Bg, PO DOF perfect details, very crisp, Nicly composed landscape photo, TFS Kyle

This is an interesting image Emma. I like the color saturation. The folg rolling in takes me back to where I grew up...near San Francisco. We would watch the fog roll in every afternoon. Even on the warmest of days one never went out for long without a sweater etc. I know how easy it is to get disoriented in the fog.

I hope the school year gets off on a better foot this year...so to speak. : )

Hi Emma,
Beautiful composition! Sky in wonderful and was lucky with fog, as the sky seems threatening. May stay far, but a wonderful place to camp!
Best regards,
José M.

Hi Emma,
A beautiful scene, the striped shadows from the clouds across the hills is just excellent. Lovely light has given some great contrast, superb detail throughout and great natural colours. Really nice and a great result for so little PP. I didn't notice the horizon either.

Hi Emma,
I like the atmosphere you brought into this picture. Clouds and colours are great.

Hello Emma, very good capture which captures drama in the sky. Love the warm tones of the land in foreground. Well done.

Hello Emma,
Lovely sky, color, and I like the light/shadows cast across this panoramic landscape by the clouds..Great FG detail and the fog bank left adds good interest for the discerning eye :) A pleasure.
